He was clever, eloquent, spontaneous, and a lot more like McNulty, the philandering hero of his series, than his comments about Aeschylus led me to expect. A man to admire.

How amazing that you go to see him in person. Did you get the chance to meet him?
It is a surreal experience to meet these people in real life. They are so close to the rest of us... except famous. In their own ways. Does fame morph us, or just others views of us?
i haven't seen The Wire yet, but I am going to sign up for Netflix again soon, and I'll look for it there. I'm really excited about it.
