Music: Abba, The Visitors

Nick: All the best and worst of Stop Making Sense or, really, any other David Byrne effort circa 1990. How did four Swedish mopes turn paranoid fantasy and divorce-riddled angst into high art? Well, I'll tell you: elusive, chimerical pop masterpiece meets gay concept album. Plus, Agnetha is hot, and that matters. Bravo, blonde supermen!

I just watched a biography on Abba this morning, thanks to Michael, because honestly, i don't (or didn't) have any interest.
do you think they would have gotten divorced had their music not been crazy popular?
where are the women now? because the men are still accepting awards and singing Fernando at ceremonies in bad voices, but i dont see the women.
and let me just say... thank god that leotards and spandex are almost completely out of style. its too shiny for real life.

Agnetha still makes terrible music; Anna-Frida, I don't know. But really, they don't matter. What matters is the musical about chess that Benny and Bjorn co-wrote with Tim Rice. I must have had a subtle stroke years ago. Honestly, I do take Abba seriously, and this album is stunning.
